Saturday November 3rd, F3- Class

16:30 – 17:30 – 5 students

17:30 – 18:30 – 4 students

For our first class today we talked about the olympics and their sustainability goals for the future! Will Tokyo be able to meet these seemingly impossible goals and will the city’s infrastructure be able to support all the new tourists coming to Japan. We discussed how the recent Halloween event show the impact of a lot of people in one place. We also discussed a recent news article that talked about the use of san and kun in the government facilities in Japan. This conversation then led into conversations about the changing workplace culture of using keigo or the changing senpai kohai relationship as Japan becomes more globalized in business.

In our next class we discussed about politics! I know its not a coversation a lot of people like to have but students had questions about the upcoming midterm elections that will happen on tuesday in the US. We discussed the voting system in japan, how people register to vote, and what it means to vote for people. Very interesting conversation and I look forward to discussing more current events in next week’s class.
